Crown and Base board


The cove and or dentil is at the base of the crown moulding

The back cut of crown moulding is usually 45° or 38°.

For wilding purposes; all crown moulding & baseboard trim corners; inside and outside; are mitred.



Cutting Crown moulding

To cut 45° back cut crown on the flat set the bevel at 30° and the mitre at 35.26°

To cut 38° back cut crown on the flat set the bevel at 33.9° and the mitre at 31.6°

Using only the mitre set on the mitre saw; crown moulding is cut upside down and backwards. When setup against the fence on the mitre saw.

&there4 the cove/dentil is up in the saw mitrebox.
