Lineal feet coverage

Use a calculator and write your numbers down

How many lineal feet of 1″x6″ nominal pine flooring to cover a floor area 10′ x 9′?

To find the lineal foot coverage of a product first find the square footage of one lineal foot of the product.

1²′ is 12″ x 12″= 144²″

Nominal 1x6 is ¾″x 5 1/2″ ∴ (5.5″ x 12″) ÷ 144²″

=.458²′ per lineal foot

Divide the area to be covered by the product square footage of one lineal foot.

Floor area = 90²′ ∴ 90²′ ÷ .458²′ = 196.5 lineal feet

Add 10% for wastage 196.5 x 1.1 = 216.15 Lineal feet of 1x6
